Users shared images of screening layouts from various cities, claiming that many theaters had not sold a single ticket for the documentary.
While sales are reportedly projected to fall below expectations, the film could potentially face significant losses. Journalist Rob Shuter claimed that weak ticket sales prompted Republican groups in several conservative-leaning areas to quietly purchase screenings in an effort to support Melania’s documentary.

Although interest in the documentary does not appear especially strong so far, the film still received a glamorous premiere at John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts in Washington, D.C., on Thursday.
Several prominent figures from Washington, including Alina Habba and Mike Johnson, attended and walked the red carpet. Donald and Melania Trump were also present. Speaking with Fox News on the red carpet, the president praised his wife, saying she had become more outspoken during her second term as First Lady.
“I’ve noticed that myself,” Donald Trump said. “She has been more outspoken. That comes with time. She’s done a great job. She’s very popular, a very respected person.”
Melania added, “I’m very selective in what I do and when I speak. That is my choice, and I’m mission- and action-oriented. We had a very successful first year in my office as First Lady, and I’m proud of what we achieved.”
Although Donald Trump’s actions as president — including the Greenland situation, the Epstein files, and immigration enforcement efforts involving ICE operations — have continued making headlines, some people have also questioned his health.
Some experts, including former White House doctor Jeffrey Kuhlman, have suggested the president may not be doing as well as the White House has claimed, while others have speculated about cognitive decline.
Trump accused of forgetting which country Melania is from
Some people point to moments such as Trump allegedly forgetting previous statements or mixing up places as signs that he may not be doing well. Another moment during the red carpet appearance for Melania’s film further fueled those discussions.
While speaking about Melania, the 79-year-old appeared to some viewers to struggle with recalling where his wife of 20 years was born.
“She comes from a faraway country, a wonderful country, clean, beautiful, safe. Doesn’t have problems like others have. But she comes from a very safe country, very good country,” Trump said while speaking about his Slovenian-born wife.
He added, “It’s different, and she speaks a lot of languages, very smart, understands what happens. And she’s a good influencer, of me.”
Social media users quickly reacted, with some accusing Trump of forgetting where his wife is from.
“He has no idea what country his wife is from,” one user wrote on X.
“He forgot where his wife is from… didn’t he? lol,” another user wrote, while someone replied, “he never knew.”
A third person commented, “Trump must be having a hard time remembering who came from where,” while another added, “Lol he couldn’t point to Slovenia on a map. He probably thinks she’s from Slovakia half the time.”
