J.K. Rowling has been outspoken about her views on transgender people. In recent years, she has become one of the most prominent voices in the United Kingdom opposing trans rights.
The renowned fantasy writer firmly believes that trans women should not be equated with those born biologically female, and that policies or laws allowing this are harmful to women’s rights.
Rowling also does not spare anyone she considers to be a trans woman. She targeted Olympic boxer Imane Khelif, believing her to be a trans woman, and referred to Khelif as male on several occasions. As a result, when Khelif won at the Olympics, she filed a lawsuit for cyber harassment, with Rowling named as one of the defendants.
The original Harry Potter cast—including actors Daniel Radcliffe, Emma Watson, and Rupert Grint—have all made it clear that they oppose Rowling’s views on trans people.

The author has now announced plans to create a private foundation, which she says “offers legal funding support to individuals and organisations fighting to retain women’s sex-based rights in the workplace, in public life, and in protected female spaces.” She plans to direct funds from her royalties and other income toward this cause.
After a decision in the United Kingdom that limited certain trans rights was reached, Rowling posted an image of herself holding a celebratory drink and cigar, with the caption, “I love it when a plan comes together.”

She has also established a fund to provide legal support for women fighting for their sex-based rights in the workplace. Additionally, she funds various organizations, including ‘For Women Scotland,’ which is also vocal about its views on trans women and those born biologically male.
Overall, it appears that J.K. Rowling is not backing down from her beliefs and remains committed to funding causes aligned with them.
