Former Congresswoman Marjorie Taylor Greene has urged that President Donald Trump be removed from office through the Twenty‑fifth Amendment.
The uproar began after Trump posted on social media, writing: “A whole civilization will die tonight, never to be brought back again. I don’t want that to happen, but it probably will. However, now that we have Complete and Total Regime Change… maybe something revolutionarily wonderful can happen, WHO KNOWS?,” according to VT.
He reportedly added that the moment could become “one of the most important moments in the long and complex history of the World.”
The post followed Trump’s warning that Iran “could be taken out in one night,” adding: “And that night could be tomorrow night.”
He also suggested that if Iran failed to meet his demands, the country could be pushed back to the “Stone Ages,” saying: “They’re going to have no bridges… They’re going to have no power plants.”
“This is evil and madness” The scale of destruction described in his remarks drew swift criticism, with some observers raising the possibility of invoking the Twenty‑fifth Amendment — a rarely used constitutional mechanism that allows a president to be removed under specific circumstances.
Greene responded to Trump’s comments by writing: “25TH AMENDMENT!!! Not a single bomb has dropped on America. We cannot kill an entire civilization. This is evil and madness.”
Trump announces ceasefire with Iran The situation has continued to spark serious questions about U.S. military strategy, presidential authority, and the potential global fallout of escalating tensions with Iran.
However, shortly after the controversy, the U.S. and Iran agreed to a temporary, conditional two‑week ceasefire, according to the BBC. After mediating negotiations, Pakistan’s Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif announced early Wednesday that the ceasefire was in effect immediately.
During the ceasefire, shipping traffic is permitted to move through the Strait of Hormuz under coordination with the Iranian military. Trump reportedly said he would “suspend the bombing and attack of Iran for a period of two weeks” if Tehran agreed to reopen the Strait of Hormuz. On Truth Social, he said he made the decision because “we have already met and exceeded all military objectives.”
