Miami woman allegedly lured man to a $15,000-per-month condo via Instagram — then robbed him with two others

A 30-year-old Florida woman has been arrested after allegedly luring a man to her luxury apartment so she could steal from him.

Nicole Cano, of Miami, is facing charges of false imprisonment and strong-arm robbery after inviting her victim to her condo in Biscayne Bay on the evening of April 11.

Fox News reports that Cano contacted the man on Instagram and asked him to come over for “drinks,” setting a plan in motion. When the victim arrived at the $15,000-per-month apartment, he was directed onto the balcony, before two other women emerged from a bedroom and confronted him.

The three women allegedly demanded that Cano hand over his valuables, including money.

The unidentified victim told them he had no cash and tried to leave the apartment, only to be told by the women that he was “going to pay.”

A struggle followed, during which a gold chain was ripped from the victim’s neck. He managed to recover the chain, but a $300 gold cross pendant was taken by the women before he escaped the apartment.

“They tried to get his gold chain,” Miami Police Officer Michael Vega told NBC 6.

“They were not successful. But, they did take a crucifix that he had on his chain that was valued at over $300.”

The affidavit states that the victim fled the condo screaming for help before calling police.

He later identified Cano in a police photo lineup. Cano was arrested on Monday, May 4, and taken into custody at Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center in Miami, Florida.

Authorities said Cano admitted she contacted the victim on social media but denies robbing him.

If convicted of strong-arm robbery, Cano faces up to 15 years in prison. She could also face five years behind bars and a $10,000 fine if found guilty of false imprisonment.
